Endangered Birds of the Box-Ironbark Forest Art Exhibition in shop front windows. All week leading up to Easter
Guest speakers in the Historic Rushworth Town Hall. Speakers will cover topics on land conservation, endangered species and global warming. from 1pm
Bush picnics. Fieldtrips into two spectacular locations in the Box-Ironbark Forest. Experience Rushworth in Autumn along with a fully catered, informative expedition. Transport and local guides will be provided on two dates before Easter. This is an all ages free event. Stay posted for times and dates
The highlight will be live music with a Free Family Bush Dance on the 'Village green' with Irish Band Ballyreagan. There will be food, wine and snacks and a prize for the family best dressed up in a bird theme. from 6pm onwards
Artistic Program
Local artists will be make models of rare and endangered birds which will be offered to traders in high street and moora road. Information will be given on the birds’ habitat etc. The traders have all adopted a bird to be displayed in their shop windows as an act of artistic and environmental collaboration.
The big puppet birds from 2006 will be woken up and be roving at the market on the Saturday while the wise old owl watches over from the Hostel garden.

Workshops to make nesting boxes for Bird Festival
These will start on Wednesday 28 February 1.00 to 3.00 at the Mudbrick Shed at the Community House with Ken Doyle. The nesting boxes will be made from natural hollows and will be placed in the appropriate environment to provide homes for threatened species.
